Honor Seiki is known for manufacturing vertical lathes that are particularly strong and precise and that meet the manufacturing requirements of its clients. Among these models, the best selling is the VL 160 model with a 1600 mm plate and turning capacity up to 2000 mm, tool loader, optional C axis and motorised tools. All the machinery is cast and has a symmetric monobloc column so the distance from the cross member to the centre of the tool can be decreased, making for much more robust machining. The plate is rotated by a girth gear and pinion with a Timken roller bearing activated by a head motor with a box and a 2 speed gear box. The C axis is moved by an independent servomotor. One of the advantages of the Honor Seiki lathes is the SolidLock system, which is a system for anchoring the heads to the RAM that’s especially rigid and makes it possible to use angular heads and specially weighted tools. The cross member that supports the RAM is moved vertically through several set positions where it achieves a perfect interlock guaranteed with two hydraulic cylinders. That makes it possible to machine pieces up to 2100 mm tall.
